In 1985, a group of Galveston physicians opened a clinic to address the health needs of island teens. From that beginning, the program has grown and expanded to five school-based clinics. Since clinics are located in local schools, students miss as little time as possible while meeting their medical and mental health needs. Youth aged aged 0 – 21 who live in Galveston or attend Galveston schools are eligible for Teen Health Center services. Children under age 18 must have a signed parental consent form to be seen for any of our services, but once consent is on file for that year the student can come into one of our clinics at any time. Patients over 18 may sign their own consent form.
