Welcome to Rice Medical Center where your health and well-being is our first priority. We are a 25-bed critical access hospital with Trauma IV designation. We have faithfully served our community since we were founded in Eagle Lake in 1942. Our community includes the greater Colorado County area and parts of Austin and Wharton Counties. We are proud of our many talented doctors, medical staff and employees. At Rice Medical Center it truly is “our family caring for yours.” Rice Medical Center’s Telemedicine program provides local access to specialists across the state. These include Psychiatry, Dermatology, Cardiology, Primary Care, Geriatrics and Pediatrics within our clinic-based, school-based and long-term-care-based programs.
