The MSU Sexual Assault Healthcare Program is staffed 24/7 by specialized forensic nurses. Services are free and available to adults who have been sexually assaulted within the last 5 days. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners conduct a specialized examination that may include: * Collection of medical history *A physical examination *Treatment for injury *Emergency contraception, preventative treatment for sexually transmitted infections *Recommendations for follow up care *If a patient agrees, forensic evidence is also collected through the use of a sexual assault evidence kit (commonly referred to as a rape kit). **Advocates from the Center for Survivors will be available to support the patient and assist with resources.**
