He finished his residency training in family and general practice as well as emergency medicine at Garden City Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and Henry Ford Hospital. He attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, which is now known as A.T. Still University, and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from there.
