Each patient has the opportunity to receive diabetes education at any clinic visit. The education is provided by nurses, dietitians and social workers (all are Certified Diabetes Educators). The diabetes educators provide education on self-management of diabetes for patients on multiple daily injections or insulin pumps. The education includes instruction on topics such as carbohydrate counting, weight and life-style management and psych-social counseling.
