For many children with vision-related diseases, the root of the disorder may go beyond the eyes into the network of nerves and cells that transmits information to and from the brain and spinal cord, or the nervous system. The Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic at Stanford Children's Health is one of the few pediatric clinics that combines neurology, or the medical study of this system, and ophthalmology, which deals with disorders of the eye.
