The Gamma Knife has been used for over 50 years to treat brain tumors and vascular malformations of the brain. In addition, in the past 27 years the Gamma Knife has also been used to treat Essential Tremor and Trigeminal Neuralgia. Over 1000 procedures have been performed at our center since 2006. ​ Dr. Ronald Young started working with one of the first Gamma Knife units installed in the United States in 1991, and has been continuously active in clinical care and research into the treatment of pain, movement disorders, tumors and blood vessel malformations. Dr. Les Cahan, a long-time colleague of Dr. Young, has had a long interest in epilepsy and novel treatments for vascular disorders of the brain.
