About
BCMC was founded in 1951 and thrived. The vision and foresight of those long past remained constant and straightforward - to provide quality healthcare for the citizens of Bradley County and the surrounding area. Through the years, we have evolved and transformed our image, building, technology, and people, as we have grown. In 1997 the name changed to Bradley County Medical Center and in 2005 it became a Critical Access Hospital. A CAH is a term that came from the legislation that created a group of 'safety net' hospitals throughout the country; hospitals that could provide health care nearer to home, so that folks wouldn't have to travel far distances to receive their care. This also benefits BCMC, as Medicare reimburses us differently.
